Chow Mein

  1. Of course the most famous flouter of the "i" before "e" except after "c" rule. ChowMein. but not any Chowmein but vesta.

Two paper bags with aluminium coated interiors containing first the sauce mix and the then the soft noodles, NOT the crispy noodles they came in a transparent plaster envelope.

The oriental dish has its roots in the Opium wars of the 19th century. The dish Chowmein has it"s first literary outing in a small passage in Bleakhouse by C. Dickens and then grew real popularity with Delacroix's first showing in London. The 1920's bought the popular dance "Every one is doing the Chowmein".

    No biblical references.
